NC State opens as a 7-point favorite against Florida State

NCAA Football: Sun Bowl-Arizona State vs Florida State Ivan Pierre Aguirre-USA TODAY Sports

Florida State is having a rough go of it in Mike Norvell’s first season—so bad that the program is hardly recognizable. So bad that not only is NC State favored to beat the Seminoles, but favored to do so by a touchdown, which is ... a lot of points for this matchup.

NC State is far more often than not the underdog in this game on paper, so I’m curious if this is the most that the Wolfpack has ever been favored over FSU. It’s gotta be up there.

FSU is just 2-5 this season, with only one win against an FBS opponent (very hilarious that it’s UNC). The Seminoles have lost four times by at least 16 points and have been held under 20 points by conference opponents four times.

The Seminoles’ passing game has been a special type of disaster; FSU has played four quarterbacks this year, and all four of them thrown more interceptions than touchdowns. As a team, FSU has thrown 11 interceptions while scoring just six touchdowns through the air. That ain’t good! Remarkably bad for this program.

Let’s hope the struggle continues for at least one more week.
