This has got to be one of the stranger recruiting days in NC State football history. Not long after former Florida State safety Cyrus Fagan announced that he’s transferring to NC State, former FSU defensive tackle Cory Durden did the same. Two players from a division rival on the same day?!

Durden opted out in November—he didn’t play against the Wolfpack—and in the note he posted on Twitter, he explained that the coronavirus hindered his recovery from a shoulder injury, so he was dealing with nagging pain all year.
Durden was a big part of FSU’s defense in 2019, finishing tied for the team lead with 5.0 sacks. He started 12 games, finishing the year with 39 tackles, with 6.5 for a loss. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say he could be a starter in Raleigh next year.
Listed at 6’5 and 315 pounds, Durden is a former high-three-star prospect who had plenty of big offers out of high school.
