What you probably all knew by now is official: NC State is going to play in the Gator Bowl on January 2nd. The Wolfpack will match up with Kentucky, which finished the season at 4-6. Everybody is eligible for a bowl game this year, remember.
The last time the Wolfpack went bowling, it went to the Gator Bowl against an SEC team, and I’m not gonna bother with any other details because who needs those? But the task should be a lot easier this time around. Kentucky’s four wins came against teams with the following records: 3-7, 3-7, 2-8, 0-9.
It’s a heck of an accomplishment for this Wolfpack program to bounce back in such a decisive way, even with more injuries in key places, even without Devin Leary for much of the season. The guys have earned this trip, and it’s a good reward for a lot of hard work that got things back on track.
If you’d told me in July that this would be the result of the season, I would have fainted, probably. It’s been fun, and let’s go get one more.
