And welcome to the last week of NC State’s 2020 regular season. Super weird, but also very exciting given the overall record the Wolfpack has posted this year. Win or lose - but, please, don’t lose - this has been a successful year for NC State’s football team.
On to the slate for the week!
I have a feeling like the LaTech-UNT game is going to be entertaining. Neither team is particularly good, but both teams have above-average offenses and horrendous defenses. That can make for some particularly fun football!
Speaking of fun football, Friday night’s Louisiana-App State Thriller in the Chiller (TM) should be on the top of your list of anything to do on Friday night. Disregard the other game that night - it’s going to be a blowout.
Does Gus Malzahn get canned if/when Texas A&M beats Auburn to kick off Saturday? We’ll see.
Go Catamounts! Rawr rawr rawr!
Recent Wolfpack foe Liberty will be at undefeated Top 25 (what’s up, 2020!) Coastal Carolina, with ESPN Game Day in Conway (okay, feet off the couch, 2020).
It kinda stinks that NC State is playing in the mid-day slate of games, because that one might be the best overall. West Virginia @ Iowa State, Indiana @ Wisconsin, and BC @ UVA are all going to be fun ones to watch... that you won’t be watching.
In the primetime slot, Clemson heads to Virginia Tech to try and clinch a rematch with Notre Dame in the ACC Championship Game. I’d wager my next paycheck that the Tigers beat the Hokies.
Defending National Champion LSU is a 29.5 point underdog at home to Alabama. That is an absurd statement to make.
There are also some fun late night games, for those night owls. I’m particularly interested in the showdown of former NFL coaching flameouts in the UCLA (Chip Kelly) @ Arizona State (Hello! Herm Edwards!) game.
And speaking of the NFL, if you hate it but really want to watch football on Sunday, then this is the week for you! Wazzou takes on Southern Cal on Sunday night. Woo...hoo?
