NC State pops back in at No. 24 in Coaches Poll

NCAA Football: North Carolina State at Syracuse Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

Beating Liberty two weeks ago didn’t much move the needle, and NC State’s eight-win regular season has gone on unrecognized, but State did manage a grudging return into the top 25 this week. At No. 24 in the Coaches Poll, three spots behind—lemme check the notes here—Liberty.

But anyway, NC State is back in the polls, as it should be, and at least someone is theoretically paying attention. NC State did not make it back into this week’s AP Poll. What else this team has to do after winning four straight games, I don’t know. Congrats to Liberty on still being ranked after smoking a garbage UMass team and then not playing this weekend.

There’s just no way to overcome that, I guess. State deserves the recognition of being in the top 25 at this point—the team has earned that much, on account of how hard it has worked to get to eight win this season. It’s tough in December to overcome preconceived notions, though.
