We knew it might take a little time for the team to start clicking, but it’s safe to say that NC State’s run to the playoffs is underway. You have to feel good about taking a four-game winning streak into the All-Star break, and if the Pack can add some pitching depth at the deadline, I think you’ll see a continued ascent through the last two months.
Hm? ... Hey, wait a minute, this isn’t baseball at all!
Well, anyhow, NC State cracked the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night, and while this is meaningless in that the Wolfpack would need about 20 teams to miraculously opt out of the season in order to reach the playoffs, the guys deserve a little notice for how they closed out the schedule.

(Though it is definitely not meaningless to Dave Doeren, who gets a $50k bonus if State finishes the season in the CFP top 25.)
And NC State might not be a top 25 team, but I apologize for nothing. I am taking whatever small things I can find to enjoy in 2020.
