NC State was the talk of the college football world this week for its businesslike approach to the bye, The way the Pack went out and executed, you’d expect the pollsters to be impressed, and indeed they were.
NC State moved up to No. 22 in the AP Poll and up to No. 21 in the Coaches Poll. Three media pollsters have the Wolfpack in the top 15: Brett McMurphy, the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette’s Dylan Sinn, and Bryce Miller of the San Diego Union Tribune.
There are still 14 voters who aren’t including State on their ballots, but almost as many folks have State in the top 20.
Wake Forest continues to lead the way for the ACC, checking in at 16 in both polls. And Clemson has re-appeared in the Coaches Poll, at 25. North Carolina received no votes in either poll after losing a home game to (checks notes) Florida State ... by double-figures?! Wow, that’s gonna put a dent in the Heels’ national title hopes.
