I’m not sure what to make out of NC State’s game against Boston College this week, except that it’ll probably be difficult. I can’t imagine otherwise given all the rough performances the Pack has had in Chestnut Hill over the years.
Oddsmakers have NC State as the early two-point favorite, and no doubt there isn’t a ton separating these two teams, even with Boston College missing starting quarterback Phil Jurkovec, who suffered a wrist injury in early September.
The Eagles had a chance to pull out a win at Clemson late, before a botched snap ended their hopes of an upset. Otherwise, BC has been no worse for wear without Jurkovec, though BC also hasn’t exactly faced a murderer’s row of opposition, either.
The Eagles’ defense has been unimpressive of late, giving up 6.0 yards per play to Missouri and 6.4 YPP to Clemson. Earlier in the year, they allowed 5.7 YPP to a UMass team that averages 4.7 on the year. This is the main reason to feel confident heading into Saturday if you’re NC State.
