The Preseason USA Today AFCA Coaches’ Poll was released today, with NC State falling in the “Others Receiving Votes” category. Counting out, the Wolfpack fit in for a tie (with Boise State) at #35 with 27 votes.

The ACC had three teams ranked: #2 Clemson, #9 North Carolina (lol), and #16 Miami. ACC friend Notre Dame came in at #7, while Virginia Tech received nine votes, Pittsburgh and Boston College received six votes each, and Florida State captured a single vote.

Old friend Eli Drinkwitz’s Missouri team captured eight votes. Both he and Doeren are voters in the poll.

As has been discussed around these parts lately, this team has a chance to be Dave Doeren’s best yet, so upward mobility - and respect - are certainly possibilities as the season unfolds.
