Dave Doeren says NC State’s vaccination rate is over 90 percent

When Dave Doeren was asked about his team’s vaccination rate at ACC media days last month, he did not have a good answer; he didn’t know. Of course he didn’t know. Are football coaches supposed to know numbers? That was a bad moment, an infuriating moment.

Pressure’s been on since then, though.

During his radio show on Wednesday, Dave said the team’s vaccination rate is over 90 percent and nearing 100 percent. These are essential benchmarks for a team that is definitely going to be good and has big aspirations. It’d be stupid as hell for a team this talented to leave up to chance an arbitrary testing regimen, and also just to go into other communities with no regard for anyone in them.

What you say when you’re unvaccinated, aside from conferring an obvious and confusing death wish, is that you don’t care about your parents, your kids, your neighbors.

No unvaccinated players/coaches/support staff are allowed to travel with NC State to road games this year, regardless of the sport. That’s been a necessary line-drawing this entire time; if you don’t get vaccinated, you don’t travel with this team, and you can’t—well, hopefully—screw it up.

Big emphasis on “hopefully” these days, with morons so pervasive.
