NC State is holding a mock game/open practice at Carter-Finley Stadium at 7 p.m. on Saturday, which is the first opportunity for fans to get a look at this year’s version of the Wolfpack.
Hey @NCState students (& other fans): we can't WAIT until next week to see you. Come out to CFS Saturday for a sneak preview. Gates open at 6:30 pm.#HTT pic.twitter.com/Q3uemKOmlC

I’m not sure what exactly a mock game will entail—maybe just some situational stuff—but hey, it’s an excuse to get out to the stadium and perhaps get some preseason tailgating reps in.
The players sound excited to finally be playing in front of decent crowds after last season and I don’t blame them. It’s weird to think that there are second-year guys who haven’t played in front of more than a few thousand home fans—normally an experience reserved for Duke players.
But that’ll change in a week’s time, and who knows, maybe there’ll be more people in the stadium for the mock game than attended any home game last fall. The excitement will be ramping up in earnest this weekend.
