NC State’s depth chart for the Furman game is out, according to the Game Notes on the GoPack site. The big question following the news that starting LB Payton Wilson and starting SS Cyrus Fagan would be out for the rest of the year is who would replace them. It appears we have that answer now.

At the weakside linebacker (WLB) spot vacated by Wilson, sophomore Jaylon Scott will step in to make his 2nd career start while true freshman Caden Fordham will back him up. At the strong safety (SS) position previously manned by Fagan, sophomore Jakeen Harris will make the start with sophomore Rakeim Ashford backing him up. Unlike at the WLB spot, Harris has a good deal of starting experience to his credit as this will be his 14th career start. He actually has more career starts than Fagan (6).
For those wondering, PK Chris Dunn leads the active career starts list for NC State with 39. Next up behind him is Isaiah Moore with 37 and Emeka Emezie with 34.
Also, somebody please check on Corey Durden. Thirty-one pounds seems an unhealthy weight for any college student, much less a defensive lineman on an ACC football team.
