The good recruiting news rolls on, with NC State landing a commitment from former UConn tight end Justin Joly on Thursday afternoon. Joly gives the Wolfpack another potential difference-maker on offense: he led UConn with 56 receptions and 578 yards in 2023. He also has two years of eligibility remaining.

(He had four grabs for 38 yards against State this fall, and also one catch for one yard in Raleigh last year.)

The Pack has missed having a strong pass-catching tight end for a while, so this is an extremely welcome addition. All this sudden this team is not lacking for dangerous receivers; State’s passing game has the chance to be pretty damn good in 2024.

NC State now has made five additions through the portal, all of them on offense. The makeover has been impressive, and these guys are in the right hands to maximize their potential on the field.

Some highlights of Joly from his two years at UConn:
