Payton Wilson still undecided about playing in Pop-Tarts Bowl

But he is still practicing.

Payton Wilson spoke after practice today and wouldn’t commit one way or the other on participating in the Pop-Tarts Bowl next week, so perhaps this’ll end up a mystery right up to game day. Probably not, but who knows!

After practice today, he was presented with a proclamation from Raleigh mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin declaring Dec. 19 officially Payton Wilson Day. (What, was she busy on the 11th?)

He’s earned that honor, and definitely more than earned the right to skip out on the bowl game, if that is ultimately his decision. I mean, that’s what I would do if I were him. I’d be thrilled to see him suit up one last time and lead the team to that historic 10th win, but given the position that he plays and his injury history, it’s completely understandable if he wants to play it safe.

Like he said, he’s got the NFL Draft to prepare for.
