Soon you may be able to get your hands on “Old Tuffy,” which is a new NC State-branded beer that’s being made in collaboration with New Belgium. MyBeerBuzz.com has a picture of the labels. (hat tip to Joe Ovies for the find)

There is a bill pending currently in the North Carolina legislature that would allow for beer sales at college sporting events, so perhaps it won’t be long before you can enjoy an Old Tuffy in Carter-Finley or PNC Arena. We’ve earned it, frankly. There really should be beer available to help us all survive these Wolfpack sporting events.

Old Tuffy is a lager, and if the labels in the above link are accurate, the ABV will be 4.7%. I’m not sure that’s strong enough for basketball season, though it’s probably enough for football.
