The Carolina Hurricanes have been working to make a game at Carter-Finley Stadium a reality, and on Saturday night it became official: the Canes will host an outdoor game at NC State on Feb. 20, 2021. The announcement was made during the Stadium Series game between the Kings and Avalanche.

The Hurricanes’ opponent for the game hasn’t been announced yet. I have seen speculation that it might be the Washington Capitals (not happening, apparently, and for shame) or the Pittsburgh Penguins.
No matter the opponent, demand for tickets figures to be high, not the least because there is significant crossover between the NC State and Hurricanes fan bases. If you want ticket updates, you can fill out a form on the Canes’ website. It’d make sense to me if some tickets were allotted for distribution through the Wolfpack Club, but I have a feeling everything will go through the Hurricanes.
Hockey at Carter-Finley, man. What a time.
