Amidst all of the ongoing basketball happiness, I nearly forgot about the NC State men’s swimming team, which captured its fourth consecutive ACC championship over the weekend. Of course, this is not really news anymore—these guys were expected to win yet again, and they did so in dominant fashion (also expected).
A Wolfpack swimmer finished first in 10 of the 13 individual events and the team was dominant in the relays as well, winning four of those five events. They won by a lot, led by Olympic gold medalist Ryan Held, who was named MVP of the meet. Held is so baller he didn’t even bother shaving his facial hair for this competition.
State finished the championships with 1457 points, nearly 300 points clear of second-place Louisville.
