One good way to bounce back from having your lengthy ACC championship streak snapped is to go out and sign the best recruiting class in the nation. NC State men’s swimming did just that, signing four of the top 12 recruits in the 2021 class. Braden Holloway is out here looking like the John Calipari of swimming.
The haul includes the No. 1 overall recruit, Aiden Hayes, who is an elite swimmer in the fly and freestyle. Here’s SwimSwam on Hayes:
Aiden Hayes has been entrenched as the class’s top-ranked recruit for the past two seasons, with the ability to step in and score individually at the NCAA level right away and also contribute on the Wolfpack relays.
In addition to those four top-15 kids, the Wolfpack is also adding a couple of guys who competed in Tokyo this summer: Noe Ponti, who won bronze in the 100m fly event for Switzerland; and Alexander Norgaard, who competed in a pair of long-distance freestyle events for Denmark.
This group should help the Pack get back on top of the ACC, and who knows, maybe start another six-year ACC title streak.
