If you missed the news from the spring, a team of NC State alums is competing in The Basketball Tournament, a 64-team single-elimination event with a $1 million winner-take-all prize. Team Wolf Blood is headlined by Richard Howell, Trevor Lacey, and Scott Wood.
Their first game is this Saturday at 1 p.m. ET against a team of Miami Hurricanes alums. (Lot of alumni teams in this thing.) Wolf Blood is the No. 7 seed in the Columbus Regional. The guys probably could have been seeded higher but they didn’t play anybody in the non-conference this year.

I don’t have a clue how deep this team could realistically go in the tournament, but my tentative plan is to have fun regardless of what happens. And you better believe there will be a game thread on Saturday afternoon, because sure why not.
The first-round game will air on ESPN3—TBT has a surprisingly robust television deal—and should Wolf Blood advance, its second-round game will be on ESPN the following afternoon.
