Former NC State football player BJ Hill was traded from the New York Giants to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday as part of a one-for-one trade. Heading to the Giants will be offensive lineman Billy Price, a former first round pick out of Ohio State.
The Bengals will reportedly also get a draft pick in the deal.
The full terms of the #Giants' trade, per sources:
— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 30, 2021
Bengals get: DL B.J. Hill and a conditional 7th-round pick
Giants get: OL Billy Price
Hill is in the final year of his rookie contract and is set to be a free agent after the season. Since being a 3rd round pick of the Giants in the 2018 NFL Draft, the 69th overall pick that year, Hill has appeared in 48 games with 17 starts. He has registered 117 tackles including 10.0 TFL and 7.5 sacks in three seasons.
Initial indications are that the Bengals will slot Hill into the rotation at Defensive End in their 4-3 scheme (that also features former NC State standout Germaine Pratt as the starting Middle Linebacker), although the 6’3, 311 lbs Hill could also slot into the rotation at Defensive Tackle.
