NC State finished the 2016 season on the wrong side of the bubble, but led by a strong group of seniors, the Wolfpack left no doubt in 2017 that they belong in the NCAAs. After a 12-4 finish to league play, head coach Wes Moore was honored as the ACC Coach of the Year.
With the win in this category comes a celebration cake! Mmm, celebration cake.

NC State is the No. 4 seed in the ACC tournament that got underway on Wednesday, and that means the Wolfpack is off until Friday. The Pack will face the winner of Clemson/Louisville (probably Louisville) at 11 a.m. ET tomorrow.
A couple of wins in the ACC tourney could help the Wolfpack back into the hosting picture—State is close to the NCAA tournament committee’s top 16, certainly, but maybe just a spot or three out right now, and you gotta be in that top 16 to host the first weekend.
But regardless, Moore has done a fantastic job with the team this season, as they’ve not missed a beat since losing star freshman Aislinn Konig to injury. So at least the women’s basketball program appears to be in good hands.
