The men’s game on Saturday ended up being really annoying in that it ended with a loss, but fortunately we have the Wolfpack Women to help us get over it. NC State shrugged off a slow start on Sunday to dominate UNC for the better part of 30 minutes and take an easy 73-54 win.
This outcome was entirely expected. Wait. Wait a minute. Is this how Roy Williams feels every time he coaches against us? Oh no. Oh no. Well actually it does make sense. But oh no. Dammit.
Anyway. The Wolfpack Women are 20-6 overall and 9-4 in the ACC with that win, which also completed a season sweep of the Tar Heels, who are bad. I mean their team is bad. Thought it was important to point out that their women’s basketball team is bad. Big bummer for them.
State had to replace a handful of seniors heading into this season but has nonetheless reached the point of playing for NCAA tournament seeding with a month left—Wes Moore is good at his job. NC State is 17th in the RPI and should close out the regular season with a couple wins in these last three games.
