NC State women’s hoops lands another 5-star prospect

Wes Moore? Also a winner.

NCAA Womens Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Kansas City Regional-Mississippi State vs North Carolina State Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Wes Moore generally has recruited well in his time at NC State, and now that his program has a little extra momentum after a trip to the Sweet Sixteen, he’s making the most of it. On Tuesday, NC State landed a commitment from five-star forward Jada Boyd, who also considered Louisville and West Virginia.

ESPN’s recruiting service ranks her No. 5 at her position and No. 32 overall in the class of 2019. Boyd is the second five-star player to commit to NC State in this cycle, joining wing Jakia Brown-Turner, who is the No. 17 overall prospect in the country per ESPN.

The Wolfpack Women are still playing catch-up with Notre Dame and to a lesser extent, Louisville, when it comes to competing consistently for ACC titles, but more recruiting success like this can change the picture. The program is in good hands.

NC State has four players committed in its 2019 class.
