The UConn era of domination in women’s basketball? Yesterday’s news. Defending national champion Notre Dame? Rubbish. Do you see UConn or Notre Dame waking up today with none losses? You do not.
NC State, on the other hand, improved to 16-0 on Thursday night with a 63-34 win over Pittsburgh and as recent events would have it, the Wolfpack owns the last perfect record in D-I women’s hoops. Just as we all anticipated. I yawn at how tedious, how regular, how standard this has become.
But seriously it’s pretty cool to be at this point even if the schedule hasn’t been overly taxing up to this point.
S/o to the WBB team that’s tough #WPN https://t.co/cL3gVFMA1K

Ohio and Louisville were the other two unbeatens heading into the week, but both dropped games over the last two nights.
There’s a decent chance that NC State makes it all the way to February without a loss, given how the league schedule sets up for the Pack. Don’t mistake the schedule stuff for a suggestion that this team is a fraud, though—State hasn’t won a game by less than 11 since November. Not bad for a group that’s now down two key players for the season.
