NC State guard Kiara Leslie is the No. 10 pick in the WNBA Draft

No one has been more essential to the resurgent NC State women’s basketball program than Kiara Leslie, who is C.J. Leslie’s younger sister, who started her college career at Maryland, and who is now a WNBA Draft pick.

Yeah, there’s a few layers here. Funny how things work out.

Leslie led NC State through Maryland last season to reach the Sweet Sixteen, and she was fantastic after shifting to a primary scoring role this season as State faced a bunch of serious injuries. She stepped up and got this Wolfpack team as far as it could go.

She’s now a member of the Washington Mystics.
