The Wolfpack Women also released their 2020-21 schedule this week, and the ACC’s defending champs are set to play 25 games in total, 20 of which will be league games. The ACC opted to expand the conference schedule on the women’s side from 18 to 20 games this year, for obvious reasons.
That gives NC State just five non-conference games, and those are headlined by a road trip to preseason No. 1 South Carolina. The Gamecocks will come to Raleigh next season. Great measuring-stick series for the Pack.
The other four non-conference games are of the cupcake variety and all will be at home: North Florida, Elon, Coastal Carolina, Radford.
In league play, NC State will get home-and-homes with six opponents. Here’s the breakdown:
Home-Away: Boston College, Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest
Home Only: Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame, Pitt
Away Only: Georgia Tech, Florida State, Louisville, Syracuse
The league’s release claims that schools have been split into three regional divisions for home-and-home purposes but after scanning each school’s schedule, I cannot figure out how this is supposedly structured. Anyway!
In any season it should be a no-brainer for State to play UNC, Wake, and Duke twice and we at least have that good fortune this year. Should be fun.
