It feels like 10 years ago now, and it would figure that this wretched year would leap out to obscure what an enormous accomplishment the NC State women’s basketball team managed in March. So let’s not forget about their breakthrough and how awesome and fitting and perfect it was.
One for the books, and we never get tired of looking back on it.

And that team was set to be, at worst, a three-seed in the NCAAs, and more likely a two after winning the ACC tournament. So much potential from a veteran group that had its problems down the stretch only to rally back and reset in Greensboro and make some history.
It just immensely sucks that this was the end for this team, but if they had to go out, then they sure as hell picked the right way to do it. One perfect Ace Konig three for all time, and and endless number of lingering questions.
We’ll never know. But this team delivered when it counted. We know that much for sure.
