Highlights! The Wolfpack Women are champs again

NCAA Womens Basketball: Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament - Louisville vs NC State Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

I really never thought I’d see the day that an NC State basketball team would win back-to-back ACC tournament titles. Watch enough opportunities slip by the wayside and you start to feel like one title is impossible, let alone two.

But Wes Moore has been changing a lot for the better, lately. And he has Elissa Cunane, which helps.

The 2020 title game featured a big-time clutch shot from Ace Konig, and the 2021 edition had Cunane making big plays in the last couple of minutes prior to Raina Perez’s near-buzzer-beater. This team makes its own luck, don’t get me wrong here, but it feels a little like the college basketball gods decided to finally just give us a damn break. But that notion really does undersell how unflappable and how talented this team is.

If this NC State team manages to get to the Final Four, the school can go ahead and start on the statue out front of Reynolds.
