The NC State women’s basketball team is participating in the 2021 preseason WNIT, which will feature eight schools broken into two four-team pods at separate host sites. NC State will serve as one of the hosts, while Kansas State is the other.
The Wolfpack Women will welcome Florida, Wofford, and Towson to Raleigh and face all three. NC State will also host Kansas State to conclude the event. It’s not a tournament, as no champion will be crowned.
NC State should cruise through the field here, as both K-State and Florida finished under .500 last season. The Gators were just 12-14 (3-11), while the Wildcats managed only a 9-18 (3-15) record. It’ll be a nice early-season tune-up for the Wolfpack.
With South Carolina coming to Raleigh and a Big Ten/ACC Challenge game also to be set (rematch with Indiana?), the Pack has at least four power-conference opponents on the non-conference slate.
